Community Building

The Central West End Farm intentionally builds community.  A study by Chris Miller, MPH, identified as part of his masters thesis at least 30 members of the community who partner with the farm in some capacity.

ROI

The return on investment is equally impressive. On average one lettuce plant at the cost of .25 might be harvested as many as four times producing as much as four pounds of lettuce valued at $2.00/pound or a total of $8.00. One package of carrot seeds costing $2.00 will produce on average 100 to 150 carrots.

Awards

The Central West End Farm was recognized in 2014 by the Central West End Association with the Polk Award given annually to an individual who has exhibited outstanding support and/or contributions to the betterment of the neighborhood.
